Economic Mission of AWEX in cooperation with BCECC |

I am pleased to inform you that the Walloon Export and Foreign Trade Investment Agency (AWEX) in cooperation with BCECC , will organize an economic mission to China from November 23 until November 27, 2009 . China’s growth and the opportunities it presents are no longer a secret to anyone in the business world. While megacities such as Beijing and Shanghai have long captured much of the spotlight, it is behind the scenes in the so-called “second-tier cities” where one can witness China’s real economic miracle. For this reason, the economic mission will first lead us to Beijing and will then guide us to two of the second-tier cities of China, Chengdu and Chongqing . These two cities have the same advantages : cheaper labor costs, higher-speed development and more favorable local policies. During our stay in Chengdu, we will also take the opportunity to inaugurate our BCECC office in Chengdu of which we only recently received the official approval of the Ministry of Commerce in Beijing. The objective of this office is to develop a network with the local governments and chambers of commerce in support of export and Belgian investors with activities in Sichuan and Chongqing. The office will also profile the economic environment of both provinces and will seek to identify Chinese investors with a potential interest in Belgium. H.E. Mr. Patrick Nijs, Ambassador of Belgium in China will be present during the official opening of our office. Would you like to find out more about this economic mission?
